My Passion Project: Community Giving Bench

Together we can make a difference.

One of my favorite things to do is throw a Trash to Treasure party with my girlfriends. We go through our closets and house and bring together all of the items that no longer serve us. Then all of us ladies do some free shopping and take home new treasures. On my morning ebike rides I would notice so many wonderful items that people were putting in the trash. I realize they no longer needed them but someone else probably would love them. I started to rescue them and take them home. Needing a place to rehome them, I created a Free Book Library and Community Giving Bench. It took off like gang busters! The local newspaper did an article about it (read here) and the neighbors 😍 LOVE IT!

The Free Book Library and Community Giving Bench is now fully sustainable on its own. I get drop offs several times per day and every item finds a new 🏠 home. When I walk out front it makes my heart filled with joy 🥰 when I hear stories about how it has helped people, knowing that we are saving the planet and creating a community where neighbors support each other. I would LOVE to inspire others to follow in my footsteps and create their our FREE Community Giving Bench.
